Amend section 1 line 8, after the word "away," byadding
the words "or cut down any growing tree, or carry."

Amend same section by adding after the word "tree," in
the 8th line, the words "or destroy any."

Amend section 1, line 10, by inserting after the word
"thereof," the words "presentment, indictment and con-
viction thereof, in any Court of this State."

Amend section 1, line 13, by striking out the words "or
Justice of the Peace."
Which were adopted,
And the bill as amended,

Read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third
reading.

Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act to legalize a supplement to the
Maryland Code, containing the Acts of the general As-
sembly, passed at the sessions of 1861, 1861-2, 1864, 1865,
1866 and 1867, arranged in Articles and sections to corre-
spond with the Code by Lewis Mayer, and. to appropriate a
sum of money to purchase copies of the same, and to regu-
late their distribution,
With the following amendment:

Amend section 2, line 2, by striking out all after the word.
purchase in said line, and insert twelve hundred and fifty.

Which was adopted,
And the bill as amended was read a second time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appoint commissioners to
have a survey made and estimate of the cost of constructing
a Rail Road from some point in Prince George's county to
Point Lookout,

Being under consideration,
Mr. Maddox offered the following amendments:
Section 1, line 2, insert four instead of three.
Section 1, line 3, insert two before the word from.
Strike out the word one, and insert one from.
Insert before the word counties, and one from Prince
George's county.
Which were adopted,

And the bill as amended read a third time and passed by
yeas and nays as follows :
