448 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS. [Mar. 1?, A bill entitled an Act to provide for the liquidation and settlement of claims for arming and equipping the Militia. Which was read a first time, And referred to the Committee on Militia. A bill entitled an Act requiring the County Commissioners of Baltimore and Carroll counties, to levy a sum of money to build a bridge across the north branch of the Patapsco River, on the Lime Kiln Road. Which was read a first time, And referred to the Senators from Baltimore, Carroll and Frederick counties. Also, Returned Senate bill, A bill entitled an Act, supplementary to an Act, passed January session, 1866, chapter 55, entitled an Act to incor- porate the Baltimore and Liberty Turnpike Road Company in Carroll county, and to amend the title of said Act of 1866, chapter 55, and to authorize the County Commissioners of Frederick county, to subscribe to the capital stock of said company. Endorsed: ' ' Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amendment." Amendment : add at end of section 3; " That this Company shall not be entitled to charge tolls on any vehicles trave- ling over this road for the purpose of going to or from fune- rals." Which was adopted, And the bill as amended, Was passed by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs.
