Gentlemen of the Senate: We have received your amendment to the bill entitled an Act of incorporation of the Working Men's Savings Bank, We would respectfully state that the first amendment has been rejected, as the institution is a Savings Bank and has no stock or shares of stock to which such amendment would be applicable ; your second amendment has been adopted. We therefore request your Honorable Body to reconsider and recede from the first amendment proposed to the said bill. By order, M. Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. On motion by Mr. Spates, The following message was sent to the House of Delegates in response to the message from the House : BY THE SENATE, March 12th, 1868. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We have received your message declaring to concur in the Senate amendment to the bill entitled an Act to incorporate "The Working Men's Savings Bank of Baltimore," and would inform you that the Senate insists on its amendments. By order, A. GASSAWAY, Secretary. On motion by Mr. Grove, The second reading of the Senate bill of Drafts of Laws on Cooperations was continued from the 76th section. Mr. Henkle offered the following amendments : Amend in 7th line, sec. 107, by inserting after the word "County," the word "Road." Amend sec. 107, by inserting after the words "Stone or gravel," the words "or other hard or durable material." Amend section 107, after the words "twelve inches," in- sert "unless the natural bed be hard." Amend sec. 120, Amend by adding at the end of the sec- tion: "Making due allowance always for cost of necessary repairs, and reconstruction from accident or otherwise." |
