Which was read and referred to the Allegany delegation.

Mr. Mearns presented the petition of T. Vincent Bonsai,
H. H. Haines, Marshall J. Hunt, and twenty others, pray-
ing the restoration to the West Nottingham Academy, in
Cecil county, the annuity of $500 which was taken from said
Institution by the Legislature of 1864.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Touchstone presented the petition of John P. Patten,
George P. Whitaker, Joseph Couden, H. S. Couden, John
Stump, Judge Frederick Stump and 277 others, with depo-
sitions and diagrams relating thereto, praying the General
Assembly of Maryland not to alter or amend the charter of
the Cecil and Harford Counties Boom Company, to the in-
jury of property holders and the common rights of the peo-
ple of said counties, or to give said company the power to
impede or obstruct the navigation of the Susquehanna River,
&c., &c.

Which was read, and referred to the Cecil and Harford
delegations.

Mr. Boyer presented a petition from M. V. Boyer and 60
other citizens, to abolish the present school system.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Dutrow presented the petition of D. Baker and 26
other citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage of an
Act to continue the present school system in force till 15th
of July, 1868.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of 91 citizens of Fred-
erick, praying the exemption of the German Reformed
Church property in Frederick from taxation.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Hubbard presented a petition from Charles Wright,
T. H. Goblin and 75 other citizens, for the repeal of the
liquor law in Federalsburg in Dorchester and Caroline coun-
ties.

Which was read and referred to the Dorchester and Caro-
line delegations.

Mr. Horsey presented the petition of Aurelia A. Long,
Wm. H. Roach and 30 other citizens, praying the General
