Which was read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act giving the assent of the State
of Maryland to the purchase of a parcel of land by the Gov-
ernment of the United States from William H. Dorsey and
others, and ceding to the United States of America the juris-
diction over the site of the Northwestern Beacon building,
or Light House, and the parcel of land thereto appurtenant
in a line with the Brewerton channel, in the Patapsco river,
in this State,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.

Browne, Maddox,
Biggs, Miller,
Brewer, Malone,
Clarke, Parker, of Calvert,
Denson; Spates,
Fields, Snyder,
Henkle, Walsh,
Hyland, Welch—19.

NEGATIVE—None.
The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably,

House bill entitled an Act in favor of the Western Mary-
land Rail Road Company, extending the time for the com-
pletion of its road.

Which was read the second time.
Also reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Union Coal,
Iron, Lumber, and Manufacturing Company of Allegany
County.

Which was read the second time.
Also, reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act for the repair and preservation
of the present county road along the valley of Wills Creek
from the Pennsylvania line to the residence of John P.
Krigbaum, on the Cumberland and Somerset Turnpike road,
or for the laying out of a new road, in the valley of said
Wills' creek, and for other purposes ;
