Also, A bill entitled an Act to require all Local Insurance Com- panies doing business in the city of Baltimore to make annual statements of their condition to the Comptroller of the Trea- sury, Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations. Also, A bill entitled an Act to authorize and require Hanson Willison, late sheriff of Allegany county, to convey certain real estate, situated in Grantsville, in said county, as in said Act provided; Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators from Allegany, Cecil and Harford. Mr. Walsh presented the petition of citizens of Harford and Baltimore counties against the repeal of the Funeral Law ; Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations. On motion by Mr. Snyder, Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore city to introduce a bill to repeal section eight hundred and ten of Article four, of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the city of Baltimore, and chapter three hundred and sixty-seven, passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and sixty- seven and re-enact the same with amendments. On motion by Mr.Maddox, Leave was granted to the Senators from St. Mary's, Balti- more and Anne Arundel counties to introduce a bill author- izing the Commissioners Court of St. Mary's county to levy a tax for an appropriation to the Southern Maryland Railroad. On motion by Mr. Maddox, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to introduce a bill to increase the fees of the Sheriff of St. Mary's county. On motion by Mr. Maddox, Leave was granted to the Senators form St. Mary's, Cal- vert and Prince George's counties to introduce a bill to ap- point a Wood Corder for Leonardtown, Md. |
