Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore city
to report a bill to repeal section 98 of Article 4 of Public
Local Laws, title Baltimore city, sub-title Auctions, and to-
re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to authorize and empower the York Road
Turnpike Company to run their cars and operate their rail-
road on the Sabbath day, commonly called Sunday, for the
transportation of passengers.

Mr. Maddox, from the special committee, reported back
Senate Joint Resolutions in reference to a survey for a rail-
road through Prince George's and St. Mary's county, with
the following amendment:

Amend by adding at the end of the Resolutions the words,
to St. Mary's county.

Which was adopted, and

The bill as amended was read the second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Biggs, from a select committee, reported
Senate bill entitled an Act regulating fences in Frederick
county.

Which was read the first time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the 18th section of
Article 56 of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-
enact the same with amendments,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Francis J. Henry,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Dorchester county, a certain
sum of money erroneously paid into the Treasury,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Denson, Spates,

NEGATIVE—None.
