Senate bill entitled an Act to add certain additional sec- tions to Article 26,of the Public General Laws of this State, relating to Corporations, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Miller, The Senate adjourned until Monday next at 12 M. MONDAY, March 9,1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by Rev. Father Burke. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Biggs, Clarke, Denson, Henkle; Hy- land, Kimmel, Lee, Maddox, Malone, Spates, Snyder, Smith—13. Mr. Maddox presented the petition of Thomas A. Lynch and others, to change the vacation in the present school system. Which was referred to the Committee on Education. Also, a petition from Walter Chester and others, to estab- lish a new voting precinct in the Factory District in St. Mary's county. Which was referred to Messrs. Maddox, Biggs and Clarke. Mr. Hyland presented the petition of Wm. T. Smith, Jno. Tyier, Jas. F. Kelly, Dr. Daniel W. Jones, and other citi- zens of District No. 2, of Somerset county, praying the passage of a prohibitory liquor law for said district. Mr. Malone presented the petition of sundry citizens of Wicomico county, in reference to paying for the erection of public buildings in said county. Which was referred to the Senators from Wicomico, Som- erset and Baltimore counties. |
