M., the Senators returned and resumed the usual legislative business. The following message was received from the House of Delegates. BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, March 5, 1868. Gentlemen of the Senate: We have received your message requesting this House " to return House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comp- troller to invest the balance of the unappropriated fund aris- ing from. the sale of the land scrip donated to the State by the United States, for the benefit of agricultural and me- chanical arts, for the further consideration of the Senate," and concur therein and herewith return the bill. By order, MILTON Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. Which was read, and the bill therein referred to was re- ferred to the Committee on Finance. Mr. Carroll offered the following : Ordered, That when this Senate adjourns it adjourns to meet on Monday next. Which was adopted. Mr. Malone, from a Select Committee, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment of a Commissioner of Slave Statistics for Wicomico county. Which was read a first time. Mr. Denson reported Senate bill entitled an Act relating to goods, wares, and merchandize in store and intransit, and to make receipts and bills of lading therefor negotiable. Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Judicial Proceedings. On motion by Mr. Snyder, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to introduce a bill entitled a supplement to an Act to incorpo- |
