On motion by Mr. Earle, The vote by which Senate bill entitled an Act to aid in the establishment of a hospital in connection with the Washington University of Baltimore, and to appropriate money for the same, Was rejected, Was reconsidered, and, The bill was ordered to lie on the table. Mr. Denson presented a petition from many citizens of Baltimore in relation to the education of negroes, and for night schools. Which was referred to the Committee on Education. House bill entitled an Act to provide for the repayment out of the storage and outage on Tobacco, of moneys heretofore demanded and received by the Inspectors of tobacco in viola- tion of the Acts of 1864, chapter 346, and 1865, chapter 194, and to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 148, in relation to- that subject, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hammond, Browne, Kimmel, Biggs, Lee, Clarke, Miller, Carroll, Malone, Denson, Parker, of Calvert, Earle, Spates, Fields, Snyder, Henkle, Walsh, Hyland, Welch—20. NEGATIVE—None.
