1868.] OF THE SENATE. 377 House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Working Men's Savings Bank of Baltimore, With the following amendment: Strike out all in the 3d section, after the word "proper," in the 10th line, and insert the following : The Stockholders in said Bank or Banking Institution shall be liable to the amount of their respective share or shares of stock in said Bank or Banking Institution, for all its debts and liabilities upon note or notes, bill or bills, or otherwise. The books, papers and accounts of said Bank or Banking Institution shall be open to inspection, under such regula- tions as may be prescribed by law. Which was adopted, And the bill as amended, Was read a second time. Mr. Maddox reported the following Senate JOINT RESOLUTIONS To appoint Commissioners to have a survey made, and to es- timate the cost of constructing a Railroad from some point in Prince George's county to Point Lockout, in St. Mary's county: Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That G. Fred. Maddox, Benjamin Tippett and John G. Chapman, be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners, who shall be authorized to employ an engineer to make a survey and to estimate the cost of constructing and equipping a Railroad from some point in Prince George's county to Point Look- out, in St. Mary's county. And the said Commissioners are further directed to report to the General Assembly, as soon as practicable, the result of said survey and estimate, to- gether with the reasons that exist for the construction of said road and the advantages that will accrue to the State by the building of said road. Resolved, That the sum of ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated for the making of said survey, and the Comptroller of the Treas- ury is hereby authorized and required to draw his warrant on the Treasurer payable to the said Commissioners ; Pro- vided, that said amount of ten thousand dollars be deducted from that portion of the appropriation to be made under the provisions of the Constitution of the State.
