376 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 6, FRIDAY, March 6,1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hildt. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Clark, Carroll, Earle, Fields, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Lee, Maddox, Miller, Malone, Spates, Snyder, Walsh, Welch—18. Mr. Walsh presented the application of Wm. Barnes, a soldier of the war of 1812, for a pension, Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen- sions. On motion by Mr. Hammond, Leave was granted to the Senators from Kent, Queen Anne's and Cecil to introduce a bill amendatory of an Act passed at the January session, 1854, chapter 274, entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland and Delaware Railroad. Mr. Hammond, from the Committee on Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act for the protection of clams and other shell fish in Worcester county. Which was read the second time. Mr. Maddox, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 79, of the Public General Laws, title " Releases and Receipts," by ad- ding a new section thereto. Which was read a first time. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Long Green and Jarrettsville Turnpike Company, in Harford and Balti- more counties. Which was read the first time. Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore Citizens Rifle Target Shooting Company. Which was read the second time.
