Senate bill entitled an Act to provide a summary remedy
against Sheriff's for making false returns to any writ of fieri
facias or other execution, by adding a new section to Article
88 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Sheriffs."

Was read a second-time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported

Senate bill entitled an Act to compensate Charles J. M.
Gwinn, Wm. P. Maulsby and Bernard Carter. Commission-
ers appointed by the Governor to prepare drafts of laws pur-
suant to the provisions of the 48th section of the 3d Article
of the Constitution of this State.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Smith, from a select committee reported,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3 of Article 33
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to indigent
blind, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Earle, from a special committee, reported

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Queen Anne's county to levy a sum of money
or issue bonds for repairing and altering the Court House in
said county.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Grove,

The second reading of Senate bill of Drafts of Laws on
Corporations, &c.,

Was continued from the 38th section.
Mr. Walsh offered the following amendment:

Amend section 52 by inserting utter the words " United
States," in 5th line, the Words, and a majority of them citi-
zens of this State, or if unnaturalized residents of this State
shall make oath that they intend to become citizens of the
United States without unreasonable delay.

Which was adopted.

At 12 M., the President announced that the hour had ar-
rived to go into the election of an United States Senator,
agreeably to the Act of Congress, and the Senate proceeded,
in a body, to the hall of the House of Delegates, for that.
