1868.] OF THE SENATE. 371 THURSDAY, March 5, 1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hildt. Present at roll call. Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Carroll, Fields, Grove, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Miller, Spates, Snyder, Smith, Walsh, Welch—15. On motion by Mr. Walsh, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to introduce a bill to incorporate the Long Green and Jarretts- ville Turnpike Road Company. Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, reported Senate bill entitled a supplement to an Act to repeal sec- tion 3 of the Act entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Luthersville, in Baltimore county, passed at this session of the General Assembly, and to re-enact the same with amend- ments and to add new sections. Which was read the first time. Also, reported favorably, House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Di- rectors of the Maryland Insurance and security Company to reduce the par value of the shares of the capital stock of said company and to issue new stock in shares of such reduced value. Which was read the second time. Mr. Smith, from the select committee, reported favorably, House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact the Act of 1867, chapter 185, for the suppression of the crime of un- lawful abortion. Which was read the second time. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to add additional sections to Article 26 of the Public General Laws of this State relating to corporations. Which was read the first time. |
