EVENING SESSION.
TUESDAY, March 3, 7 1/2, o'clock, P. M.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Present at roll call :

Messrs. Biggs, Brewer, Clarke, Carroll, Denson, Grove,
Henkle. Kimmel, Lee, Maddox, Miller, Malone, Parker,
of Calvert, Parker, of Worcester, Smith—15.

On motion by Mr. Walsh,
The Senate was called.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify the absent Sena-
tors.
On motion by Mr. Snyder,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the completion of
the Maryland and Delaware Rail Road, was taken up, and

Mr. Hammond offered the following amendment :
Strike out in section 2, line 6, all after the word "Act."
Which was adopted, and

The bill as amended read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 156, passed
January session, 1867, entitled an Act to repeal sections 5 and
8 of an Act passed January session, 1864, chapter 15, entitled
an Act to aid and encourage enlistments into the Maryland
regiments in the service of the United States, and also to
repeal sections 4 and 5 of an Act passed January session,
1865, chapter 33, entitled an Act to provide bounty for sol-
diers entering the service of the United States to fill the
quotas of Maryland, under the call of the President of the
United States of December, 1864, and under future calls,

Was taken up, and
Mr. Earle moved the following amendment :

Amend section 1, line 10, insert the word " eighteen "
after the word " nineteenth."

Which was adopted.

And the bill as amended was read a second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend an Act, passed Jan-
uary session, 1865, chapter 33, entitled an Act to provide
bounty for soldiers entering the service of the United States
