346 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 3, The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Welch, The Senate adjourned until to-morrow, at 11, A. M. TUESDAY, March 3,1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Miller. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Biggs, Carroll, Denson, Earle, Fields, Hammond, Hyland, Maddox, Miller, Malone, Spates, Snyder, Walsh, Welch—13. Mr. Biggs presented the petition of 25 citizens of Freder- ick county against the repeal of the funeral law. Which was referred to the Committee on Education. Mr. Malone presented the petition of sundry citizens of Wicomico county in reference to the passage of a law in re- gard to guardianship. Which was referred to the Senators from Worcester, Som- erset and Wicomico. On motion by Mr. Malone, Leave was granted to the Senators from Somerset, Wicom- ico and Worcester to report a bill entitled a supplement to the Act of 1864, chapter 116, entitled an Act to revive and extend an Act to incorporate the Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad Company, with amendment passed, at the Decem- ber session, 1847. On motion by Mr. Welch, Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to in- troduce a bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act for founding a college at Chestertown, Kent county. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations reported Senate bill entitled an Act to empower the Chesnut Hill Iron Ore Company, of Columbia, Pennsylvania, to hold lands in the State of Maryland. |
