such insurance business done in this State by all insurance
companies not incorporated by the laws of this State, and for
the repeal of sections 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and
36, of the 56th Article of the Code of Public General Laws,
sub-title Foreign Insurance and Companies,

Being under consideration,
Mr. Snyder offered the following amendments :

Amend 4th section, line 2, by striking out the word
"three," and insert in lieu thereof the word two.

Amend section 6th, line 54, by striking out the words "or
agent for a," and insert in lieu thereof the words for any.

Amend the 8th section by striking out the word "two,"
where it occurs in the 7th line and insert in lieu thereof the
word three.

Which amendments were adopted.
Mr. Henkle offered the following amendments :

Amend by striking out section 9 and inserting, And be
it enacted, That the whole amount received for license from
agent or agents of foreign insurance companies, and for tax
on premiums, shall be paid to the State Treasurer by the
said Superintendent, within the first twenty days of each
and every month.

Amend by striking out all after the word "Treasury," in
8th line, to "a," in 9th line of printed bill, section 10.

Which amendments were adopted, and the bill read a
second time, and,

On motion by Mr. Lee,
Was recommitted to the Committee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act appropriating the sums of
money therein mentioned to pay the claims of Plummer &
Usilton, Wm. H. Councill, E. E. Ewing, E. F. Perking,
Dr. Montgomery Johns, Samuel L. Geisinger, John T.
Watkins, Edwin Shipley, Samuel Smith and George W.
Murdock,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows
AFFIRMATIVE.
