The House amendment to said bill Was then concurred in, and The bill as amended by the House was passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Lee, Carroll, Maddox, Fields, Malone, Grove, Spates, Henkle, Snyder, Hyland, Smith, Hammond, Welch—14. NEGATIVE—None. Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the 37th Article of the Public General Laws, by repealing the second section of said Article relating to the competency of witnesses and the examination of parties' as amended by the Act of 1864, chap- ter 109, and inserting in said Article, in lieu of said section so repealed, the following section relating to the competency of witnesses and the examination of parties, Which had been returned from the House of Delegates, en- dorsed "Passed by yeas and nays," with amendments, Was considered, the amendments concurred in, and The bill, as amended, Passed by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Maddox, Carroll, Miller, Fields, Malone, Grove, Spates, Henkle, Snyder, Hyland, Smith, Hammond, Welch—15. Lee, NEGATIVE—None. Mr. Henkle, from a select committee, reported favorably, House resolution of thanks to the President and ladies of the Southern Relief Association of Maryland. Which were read a first time. |
