Mr. Walsh asked and obtained leave of absence for a few
days.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported
Senate bill entitled an Act to amend an Act, passed Jan-
uary session, 1865, chapter 33, entitled an Act to provide
bounty for soldiers entering the service of the United States
to fill the quotas of Maryland, under the call of the Presi-
dent of the United States of the 19th December, 1864, and
under future calls, by amending and re-enacting sections
4, 5 and 6, which were repealed or intended to be repealed
by the Act of 1867, chapter 156.
Which was read the first time.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates returned

Senate bill entitled an Act to alter and amend an Act to
incorporate the Mutual Insurance Company of Allegany
county, passed at December session, 1847, chapter 111, and
the several supplements thereto, so as to convert the said
company into a stock company to be known as the Fire Insu-
rance Company, of Allegany county.

Endorsed, " Passed by yeas and nays."
Also, returned

Senate bill entitled an Act to promote the efficiency of the
Orphans' Court of Baltimore county.

Endorsed, " Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the 18th section of the
first Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, title Allegany
county, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."
Also, returned

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the 37th Article of
the Public General Laws by repealing the second section of
said Article relating to the competency of witnesses, and the
examination of parties as amended by the Act of 1864, chap-
ter 109, and inserting in said Article in lieu of the said sec-
tion so repealed, the following section relating to the compe-
tency of witnesses, and the examination of parties.

Endorsed, " Passed by yeas and nays."
