Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to prohibit horse racing on the public roads in Queen Anne's county. Which was read the second time. Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act appropriating the sums of money therein mentioned to pay the claims of Plummer & Usilton, Wm. H. Councill, E. E. Ewing, E. F. Perkins, Dr. Montgomery Johns, Samuel L. Geisinger, John T. Watkins, Edwin Shipley, Samuel Smith and George W. Murdock. Which was read the second time. House bill entitled an Act to. authorize Betsy A. White, guardian, to settle with her ward, David A. White of Wico- mico county, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Miller, Clarke, Malone, Carroll, Parker, of Calvert, Earle, Spates, Hyland, Snyder, Lee, Walsh, Maddox, Welch—14. NEGATIVE—None. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Samuel J. Red- graves, of Anne Arundel county, Maryland, a certain sum of money erroneously paid by him into the State Treasury on account of State taxes. Which was read the first time.
