The yeas and nays were then called on the engrossment as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Lee, Clarke, Maddox, Carroll, Miller, Grove, Spates, Henkle, Snyder, Kimmel, Walsh—12. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Earle, Hammond, Fields, Smith, Hyland, Welch—6. And the bill was ordered to be engrossed for a third read- ing. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported favor- ably House bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the Comp- troller to correct the errors in the distribution of the "Free School Fund" accruing under the Acts of 1813 and 1816, from the year 1852 to the year 1867 inclusive, and to pay to Baltimore city and to Baltimore county the amounts of which they have been deprived by said errors, and to make appro- priation for that purpose. Which was read a second time. Mr. Kimmel, from a select committee, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 21 and 25, of Article 74, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Pilots," and to re-enact the same with amendments so as to read as follows : On motion by Mr. Earle, The bill was postponed and made the order of the day for Wednesday, March 4th, at 1 o'clock. House bill entitled on Act to repeal sections 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Article 45 of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to usury, and to re-enact the same with amendments, Being the order of the day, |
