1868.] OF THE SENATE. 303 House bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the General Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of Victor Thomson, late of Washington county, deceased, to the Trustees of the Presbyterian Church, of Hagerstown, in said county. Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Judicial Proceedings. Also, House bill entitled a supplement to an Act to incorporate the Merchants' and Miners' Transportation Company, passed in April 1852. Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Corporations. Also, House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Working Men's Savings Bank of Baltimore. Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com- mittee on Corporations. House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 159, of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county, re- lating to Sheriffs' fees, and to re-enact the same with amend- ments, Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Kimmel, Carroll, Lee, Earle, Maddox, Fields, Parker, of Calvert, Grove, Spates, Henkle, Snyder, Hyland, Smith, Hammond, Welch—16. NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Grove, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to introduce a bill to incorporate the Smithsburg Water Com- pany in Washington county. On motion by Mr. Earle, Mr. Alfred Spates was elected President pro tem. of the Senate. |
