304 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 26, Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com- missioners of Dorchester county to levy a sum of money on the taxable property of said county to refund to the execu- tors of Thomas Woolford, deceased, taxes paid in error, Was read a second time. Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Gary Man- ufacturing Company of Maryland, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Earle, it was Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Senator Thomas P. Parker is detained from his seat in the Senate by severe indisposition. On motion by Mr. Earle, House bill entitled an Act to authorize the American Life Insurance and Trust Company to settle any outstanding transaction in which it may be interested, Was considered and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. On motion by Mr. Snyder, House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 23 of the 1st Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, and to re-enact the same with amendments, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Lee, Carroll, Miller, Earle, Spates, Fields, Snyder, Hyland, Smith, Hammond, Welch—13. Kimmel, NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. Senate bill entitled an Act empowering a trader to sell license with stock of goods, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 25 of Article- 38 of the Code of Public General Laws relating to Notaries Public, and to re-enact the same with amendments, |
