302 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 26, BY THE SENATE, February 26,1868. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We have received your message proposing the appointment of a joint select committee, composed of the Senators and one Member of each of the Legislative Districts of Baltimore city, to correspond with the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore as to the expediency of providing in the new City Hall, now in course of erection, suitable rooms for the Governor, to be called the Executive Apartments of Maryland, and report the result of said conference at as early a day as possible, and cono. We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs. Kimmel and Denson. By order. A. GASSAWAY, Secretary. On motion by Mr. Clarke, The Senate was called acid the Sergeant-at-Arms sent to notify the absent Senator's. On motion by Mr. Clarke, Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with. The message to the House of Delegates was adopted by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Kimmel, Clarke, Maddox, Carroll, Spates, Earle, Snyder, Grove, Smith, Henkle, Welch—13. Hammond, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Fields, Lee—2. And Messrs. Snyder, Kimmel and Denson were appointed on the part of the Senate. The Clerk of the House of Delegates also delivered House bill entitled an Act to repeal the 9th section of the Act passed at January session 1867, entitled an"Act to incor- porate the Annapolis Fruit & Oyster Packing Company, and to re-enact the game so as to read as follows: Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations.
