The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 21 and 25 of Article 74, of the Code of Public General Laws entitled " Pilots," and to re-enact the same with amendments so as to read as follows, Being the order of the day, was taken up on its third read- ing. On motion by Mr. Kimmel, The bill was referred to the Senators from Baltimore city. Mr. Lee from a select committee, reported Senate bill en- titled an Act to protect the navigation of the Patuxent River. Which was read the first time. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow- ing message: BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. February 26. 1868. Gentlemen of the Senate : We respectfully propose, with your concurrence, the ap- pointment of a joint select committee, composed of the Sena- tors and one Member of each of the Legislative Districts of Baltimore city, to correspond with the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore as to the expediency of providing in the new City Hall, now in course of erection, suitable rooms for the Gov- ernor, to be called the Executive Apartments of Maryland, and report the result of said conference at as early a day as practicable. We have appointed as said committee on the part of this House Messrs. Blake, Latrobe and Marshall. By order, MILTON Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. Which was read. Mr. Clarke moved that the following message be sent to the House of Delegates: |
