and 78 of Article 75 of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled pleadings, practice and process, sub-title " removal
of causes," as amended by the Act of Assembly, 1865,
chapter 187, and to enact the following as substitutes there-
for.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Johns Hop-
kins Fire, Marine and Accident Insurance Company of the
State of Maryland.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact the Act of
1867, chapter 185, for the suppression of crime of unlawful
abortion.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor, Alder-
men and Common Council of Frederick to subscribe to the
capital stock of the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail
Road Company, and to endorse the bonds of said company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

Also,

Returned Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate a com-
pany to construct a turnpike road from Hagerstown to Cear-
foss' Cross Roads, in Washington county,

With proposed amendments.
Additional section as section 9:

And be it enacted, That this Company shall not be privi-
leged to charge tolls on any vehicle passing over the road for
the purpose of attending funerals.

The amendment was concurred in, and the bill as amended
passed by yeas and nays as follows :
