On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to repeal an Act passed January session, 1867, chapter
156.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to authorize the Comptroller of the Treasury to adjust
and settle the accounts due by collectors, sheriffs, clerks,
registers and other receivers of the public moneys.

On motion by Mr. Browne,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Manchester and Worth-
ington Valley Rail Road Company of Carroll and Baltimore
counties.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Wicomico, Somer-
set and Dorchester to introduce a hill to extend the provi-
sions of the Act of 1867, chapter 329, of Code of Public
General Laws, known as the jury law, to Wicomico county.

Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 17, Article 53,
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Landlord and
Tenant," exempting certain articles from distress for rent,
and to re-enact the same.

Which, was read a second time.

Also,

Reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act to facilitate the examination of
titles to land in Baltimore county, by authorizing the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore county to make out Gen-
eral Indexes to the Law and Equity Dockets in his office,
and to provide for paying for the same.

Which was read the second time.

Also,

Reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to repeal the
Act of 1867, chapter 164, entitled an Act to provide for the
payment of costs incurred before Justices of the Peace be-
fore appeal shall be heard from their decisions.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably
