TUESDAY, February 25, 1868.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hammond.
Present at roll call :

Messrs. Browne, Clarke, Carroll, Denson, Earle, Grove,
Hyland, Kimmel, Lee, Maddox, Parker, of Calvert, Spates,
Snyder, Smith, Walsh, Welch—16.

Mr. Browne presented the petition of sundry citizens of
Carroll county against the repeal of the Funeral Law.
Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Mr. Walsh. presented a petition from shippers, agents and
dealers in leaf tobacco in reference to laying down a railroad
track in Baltimore.

Which was referred to the Special Committee.
On motion by Mr. Lee,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to authorize the
Rev. John Chew to convey 8 7-16 acres of land, more or
less, at Woodville, to St. Paul's Parish, Prince George's
county.

Which was referred to special committee of Senators from
Prince George's, Cecil and Howard.

Also,

Leave to introduce a bill to appoint a treasurer and a col-
lector of taxes for Prince George's county, and to provide for
the collection of taxes in said county.

Which was referred to same committee.
On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to amend an Act passed January session, 1865, chapter
33.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to repeal an Act passed January session, 1867, chapter
372.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to aid in the establishment of a hospital in connection
with the Washington University of Baltimore, and to appro-
priate money for the same.
