Which, was read, and,

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,

One hundred copies ordered to be printed, and referred to
the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Montague presented the petition of Jasper N. Slack,
Annie E. McBee, C. P. Keller, E. M. Soper, Emma J. Ped-
dicord, Maggie G. Reese, Elizabeth Harrison, Mary E.
Shipley, Oliver Burgess, Emma D. Harrison, R. V. Hines,
E. J. Hynes and Maggie A. McBee, public school teachers
in Baltimore county, praying the passage of an Act to con-
tinue the present school system in force till July 15, 1868.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion .

Also,

The petition of the Catonsville (Baltimore county) Build-
ing Association No. 1, asking the passage of a law forbidding
the running at large of cattle within one mile of the village.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county del-
egation.

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
order :

Ordered, That the Librarian be authorized to furnish to
each member of the Judiciary Committee of this House, one
copy of the Maryland Code, and one copy of the Supple-
ments thereto, recently published by Lewis Mayer, Esq., of
the Baltimore Bar, to be returned to the Library at the close
of the session.

Which was read.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, moved to strike out the
words " Judiciary Committee of this."

Decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. McElroy,
The order was laid on the table.

Mr. Beck submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Postmaster be directed to put stamps
on the Journals for all the newspapers in the State.
Which, was adopted.

Mr. Iglehart submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Superintendent of Public Instruction
inform this House, so far as it may he in his power to do so,
the number of children—male and female—attending the va-
rious private schools, academies and colleges in the State of
Maryland ; the number attending the same out of the limits
