cilmen, of the city of Cumberland, to purchase in the limits
of said city, not .exceeding thirty-three acres of land, to be
conveyed to the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road Company, for
the purpose of erecting thereon, a rolling mill and other im-
provements, and to issue bonds to pay for the same.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Wando Com-
pany.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Mere-
dith Ford and Jarrettsville Turnpike Company in Baltimore
and Harford counties.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

Reported favorably House bill entitled a supplement to an
Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Burkettsville Female
Seminary, passed January session, 1867, chapter 111.

Which was read the second time.
Also,

Reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to further
amend the charter of the Associated Firemen's Insurance
Company of the city of Baltimore.

Which was read the second time.
Also, I

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the German
Savings Bank of Maryland, with amendment, viz :

Amend by striking out the 11th section and insert the
following in lieu thereof :

The stockholders of said bank shall he liable to the
amount of their respective share or shares of stock in said
bank or banking institution, for all its debts and liabilities
upon note or notes, bill or bills, or otherwise.

The books, papers and accounts of said bank shall be open
to inspection under such regulations as may be prescribed by
law.

The amendment was adopted, and the bill read a second
time.
