Strike out all after the word " say " in the fourth line of
the first section, and insert, "each member of the General
Assembly shall be allowed as mileage, twenty cents per mile,
for the distance he may have to travel to and from Annapo-
lis city, such distance in every instance to be estimated from
the Post Office nearest the residence of each member, and the
Committee on Claims for the House of Delegates shall have
full power to estimate and adjust said mileage as herein di-
rected.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment:

Amend section one by inserting after the word cents, no
member shall receive more than ten cents per mile as mile-
age, the distance to be computed from the county seat.

Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows :

Anne Arundel county, in the 5th line, and insert, except
from Annapolis city, the sum of fifteen dollars.

Which was adopted.

And the bill as amended was then passed by yeas and nays
as follows:
