The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
On motion of Mr. Carroll,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend and to enlarge the
powers conferred by the Act entitled an Act relating to the
manner of holding and transmitting the title to certain
church property therein mentioned, passed at December ses-
sion 1832, chapter 308.

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland
Permanent Land and Building Society of Baltimore,

Was read the third time, and,
On motion By Mr. Snyder,

The further consideration of the bill was postponed until
Friday the 14th instant, at 1 o'clock, P. M.

On motion By Mr. Earle, it was

Ordered, That the claims of the Baltimore Gazette
against the State for advertising the laws of the State of
Maryland, he referred to the Comptroller of the Treasury,
under section 52 of Article 3 of the Constitution, with request
that he examine the same, and report to the Senate at the
earliest practicable day.

On motion by Mr. Earle, it was

Ordered, That the claim of Absalom Hyland, of Cecil
county, against the State of Maryland for money claimed to
have been erroneously paid into the Treasury, together with
the petition and accompanying papers, he referred from the
Committee on Finance to the Comptroller of the Treasury,
under section 52 of Article 3 of the Constitution, with in-
structions to examine the same, and report at the earliest
practicable day to this body.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill
entitled an Act to authorize and require the Comptroller to
correct the errors in the distribution of the "free school
fund" accruing under the Acts of 1813 and 1816, from the
year 1852 to the year 1867 inclusive, and to pay to Baltimore
city and to Baltimore county the amounts of which they have
been deprived by said errors, and to make appropriation for
that purpose.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Mr. Earle submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Adjutant General of the State of Mary-
land report to this Body at the earliest practicable day, what
proportion of the 13,794 men enlisted in the armies of the
