Federal Government, to supply the quotas of the State of
Maryland, under the calls for troops in the years 1861, 1862
and 1863, were volunteers, what proportion drafted men,
and what proportion the substitutes of drafted men.

Which was read, and

Mr. Maddox offered the following amendment:

And what number of those who volunteered or were

drafted and enlisted in the years of 1861, 1862 and 1863,

have re-enlisted and received bounties.

Which was read and adopted,
And the order as amended,
Was then adopted.

On motion by Mr. Snyder,
The Senate went into executive session.

After a short session the Senate resumed the considera-
tion of legislative business.

On motion by Mr. Malone,
The Senate adjourned until to-morrow at 12, M.

WEDNESDAY, February 12,1868.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Prayer by rev. Father Burke.

Present at roll call:

Messrs. President, Browne, Brewer, Clarke, Denson, Earle,
Fields, Grove, Henkle, Hammond, Maddox, Miller, Ma-
lone, Parker, of Calvert, Parker, of Worcester, Spates,
Snyder, Smith, Welch—19.

The President presented a communication froja the Balti-
more and Havre de Grace Turnpike Companf.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Also,

Communication from the Baltimore and Harford Turnpike
Company.

Which was read and referred to the Committee oN Internal
Improvements.
