House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Opake Zinc
Company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

Also, .

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the German
Savings Bank of Maryland.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

On motion by Mr. Snyder, it was

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Sena-
tors Smith, Denson and Haminond, were absent from their
seats in the Senate, during the past week, in the prosecution
of their duties as members of the Joint Select Committee, to
visit and examine into the affairs of the charitable and benev-
olent institutions, located in the city of Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Denson, it was

Ordered, That the name of each Senator be printed on a
separate piece of paper, together with the county he repre-
sents and the committee of the Senate to which he belongs,
and that the same be pasted on the back of the desks of the
Senators.

On motion by Mr. Clarke, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that the Sena-
tor from Frederick county, Mr. Biggs, is detained from his
seat by sickness.

On motion by Mr. Brown, it was

Ordered, That the State Printer be authorized to furnish a
copy of the Journal, to the presiding officers of the Legisla-
tures of the States of New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Penn-
sylvania and Kentucky.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to pay Henry Jones, as bounty commissioner.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

Leave was granted to Senators Maddox, Kimmel and
Haminond, to introduce a bill, giving power to a party who
has obtained license to sell in this State, to transfer said
license to the party purchasing his stock.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to amend the 7th section of Article
