Mr. Miller presented the petition of Absalom Hyland.
Which was referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Walsh presented the petition of citizens of Harford
county.

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. Henkle presented the memorial of the Trustees of
the Maryland Inebriate Asylum.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Mr. Grove presented the petition of Thomas W. McAtee.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

On motion by Mr. Walsh, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate is hereby
directed to have the steps to the several entrances to the
State House covered with boards, to remain during the win-
ter as a safeguard against accidents from ice.

Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Lee,

Leave was granted to Senators Lee, Henkle and Smith to
introduce a hill to amend sections 75 and 76, Article 16,
Public Local Law for Prince George's county, relating to
navigation of the Patuxent.

On motion by Mr. Biggs,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a hill entitled an Act to amend an Act to incorpo-
rate the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail R oad Com-
pany, chapter 298.
