On motion by Mr. Welch,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Kent, Queen
Anne's and Cecil counties to introduce a bill to repeal a pro-
viso in the fourth section of the bill passed at January ses-
sion 1867, chapter 150, relating to the payment of the State's
subscription for stock in the Kent County Railroad Company.

Mr. Henkle from the select committee, reported Senate
bill entitled an Act to repeal sections first and second of the
Act of Assembly of 1862, chapter 234, entitled an Act to
amend an Act to provide for the erection of a Hospital for the
Insane of this State, and sections 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th of
the Act of Assembly of 1864, chapter 248, entitled an Act
for the government of the Insane Asylum, and to regulate
the admissions thereto, and to enact the following sections in
lieu thereof.

Which was read the first time and ordered to be printed.

Mr. Earle, from the select committee, reported Senate bill
entitled an Act to repeal sections 37, 38, 39, 46, 47, 48 and
54 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating
to the town of Centreville, Queen Anne's county, and to re-
enact the following as substitutes therefor.

Which, was read the first time, and on his motion,
The rules were suspended by the following vote :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Browne, Kimmel,

Biggs, Lee,

Brewer, Malone,

Carroll, Parker, of Worcester,

Denson, Spates,

Earle, Snyder,

Grove, Smith,

Henkle, Walsh,

And the bill read a second time and ordered to be engross-
ed for a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance io report
a bill to make the necessary appropriation for the purchase of
the site for the Executive Mansion selected by the Commit-
tees on Public Buildings of the Senate and House of Dele-
gates, acting jointly in reference to said selection.
