The President presented the second and third and final re-
port of the Commissioners appointed under 48th section,
3rd Article of the Constitution.

Which was referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings.

Mr. Lee presented the petition of sundry citizens of Prince
George's county, regarding the present school system.

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. Smith presented the petition of sundry citizens of Dor-
chester county, asking the passage of a law in regard to the
sale of the "Alms House."

Which, was referred to the Senators from Dorchester, Tal-
bot and Caroline counties.

Mr. Malone presented the petition of 8. P. Dennis and
other citizens of Wicomico county, praying the passage of a
law regarding the improvement of roads in said county.

Which was referred to the Senators from Wicomico, Som-
erset and Talbot.

On motion by Mr. Carroll,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill directing the Treasurer to pay to the School Com-
missioners of Howard county, the sums of money due by the
State from the Academic Fund.

On motion by Mr. Hammond,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to prevent tenants from committing
waste upon the property of their landlords.

On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to repeal section 165 of Article 19, of the Code
of Public Local Laws for Somerset county, title Salisbury,
and the supplement thereto, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, so as to form a new section to Article 23.of the
Code of Public Local Laws entitled Wicomico county.

On motion by Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to Senators Walsh, Welch, and Den-
son to introduce a bill relating to liabilities of keepers of
hotels or ordinaries.
