Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

The following message was received from the House of
Delegates :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 24, 1868.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

Your message proposing the appointment of a joint com-
mittee to wait upon the Hon. Robert Fowler and inform him
of his election as Treasurer of the State of Maryland, has
been received, and we respectfully concur therein We have
appointed on the part of this House, Messrs. Herbert, Con-
way, Albaugh and Boyer.

Chief Clerk.

Mr. Parker, of Worcester, from the select committee, re-
ported Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of
license for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or
lager loeer at or near New Ark, in Worcester county, in the
State of Maryland.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Malone, from select committee, reported Senate bill
entitled an Act regulating the number, and prescribing
the powers and duties of the County Commissioners for
Wicomico county.

Which was read the first time.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays,"

Entitled an Act to amend and re-enact section 805 of
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the
city of Baltimore, under the sub-title " Orphans' Court."

Which was read the first time.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners or Anne Arundel county to levy and
refund a certain sum of money to Samuel Redgraves, for
county and school taxes erroneously paid by him.

Endorsed passed by yeas and nays.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Also, House bill entitled au Act to incorporate the
Continental Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Balti-
more.

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."
