Mr. Miller, from the select committee, reported "rules for
the government of the Senate," with the recommendation
that they be adopted, which,

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Were made the order of the day for Monday, the 27th
inst.

Mr. Earle introduced the following joint resolution :

Resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, that his
Excellency, the Governor, be and he is hereby requested to
issue a commission in the usual form to the Hon. William T.
Hamilton as Senator elect to represent this State in Congress

of the United States for the term of six years from the 4th
of March, 1869.

Which was read the first time.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill

entitled an Act to require the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Washington county, to prepare and make a general index to
the Land Records of Washington county, and to transcribe
one of the equity dockets of said Court.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also, House bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed March 10th, 1864,
Chapter 347, entitled an Act to repeal section 30 of Article
15, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Montgomery

county," relating to the Courts of said county, and to enact

a substitute therefor.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays,"

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also, House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Cumberland & Pennsylvania Rail Road Company, pas-
sed at January session 1849, Chapter 469.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays,"

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

Also, House bill entitled an Act, entitled a supplement to
an Act passed January session, 1856, Chapter 146, entitled
an Act to incorporate the Grilmor House Company.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays,"

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

Also, House bill entitled an Act to provide for the better
protection of partridges in Washington county.
