THURSDAY, January 16, 1868.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Prayer by the Rev. Father Burke.

Present at roll call :

Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Brewer, Clarke, Car-
roll, Earle, Fields, Grove, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Lee,
Maddox, Miller, Malone, Parker, of Calvert, Parker, of
Worcester, Spates, Snyder, Smith, Walsh, Welch—23.

Mr. Lee presented the report of the Bureau of Labor and
Agriculture,

Which was read ; and,
On motion by Mr. Walsh,

One hundred copies were ordered to be printed.
On motion by Mr. Lee,

The motion was reconsidered and five hundred copies
ordered to be printed.

Mr. Malone presented the petition of Benjamin Sheppard
and other citizens of Wicomico county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Printing.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to withdraw from the Committee on
Education the report of the Trustees of the Centreville
Academy, Queen Anne's county, that be may hand it in to
the Comptroller of the Treasury, in compliance with the
provisions of Article 84, section 4, of Public General Laws.
On Motion hy Mr. Hyland,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Somerset,
Wicomico and Worcester to introduce a hill to annex that
portion of Trappe district remaining in Somerset county
to Prince's Anne district in said county.
On motion by Mr. Hammond,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings to report a bill entitled an Act to authorize the?
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot County to copy the
general index to land records in his office from 1833 to 1868,
On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a hill to incorporate the Wicomico and Nanticoke
Rail Road Company.

On motion by Mr. Henkle, it was

Ordered, That one hundred copies of the report of the
committee appointed hy the Governor, agreeably to the
Constitution, "to prepare drafts of General Laws providing
for the creation of corporations," &c., be printed for the use
of the Senate.

The order was adopted.
