A communication was received from the House of Dele-
gates, and read as follows :

HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 7, 1868.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We respectfully propose with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body to open the returns of the election for Gov-
ernor of Maryland this day at two o'clock, P. M., in the
Hall of the House of Delegates, in the presence of both
Houses, agreeably to the requirements of the Constitution of
the State. By order,

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.

In response to which the following reply was communi-
cated to the House:

BY THE SENATE,

January 7, 1868.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing to open the
returns of the election for Governor of Maryland in the
Hall of the House of Delegates to day at two o'clock, in the
presence of both Houses, in conformity with the require-
ments of the Constitution of the State, and concur therein.

Sec'y pro tem.

A communication was received and read from the House
of Delegates, as follows :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 7, 1868.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your Hon-
orable Body, that so much of the Governor's Message as relates
to an Executive Mansion, be referred to the committees of the
respective Houses on Public Buildings.

The following communication was received and read from
the House of Delegates :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 3, 1868.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message proposing to go into the
election of Treasurer on Thursday next at 12 o'clock, and
respectfully concur therein.
