Mr. Worthington moved to strike out the enacting clause
of the bill.

Decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Seibert,
The bill was indefinitely postponed.

On motion of Mr. Legg,
The House took up for consideration

The bill entitled an Act to add an additional Article to
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, to be enti-
tled Commission Merchants, relative to their responsibilities
for boxes, bags, baskets, chests and barrels, in which fruit
or vegetables may be sent to them.

Said bill being upon its passage,

Mr. Legg demanded the previous question.

Which was sustained.

The question then being,

"Shall the previous question be now put?"

It was decided in the affirmative.

The question then recurring upon the passage of the bill,

The bill was rejected by yeas and nays (for want of a con-
stitutional majority) as follows :
