On motion of Mr. Percy,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the town of Vienna, in Dor-
chester county.

Mr. Brown, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims pay to the officers
of the last House of Delegates, who have officiated in the
organization of the present House, five days' per diem.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Johnson,

Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill in regard to the oyster beds of Fishing Bay and
tributaries, and Honga river.

On motion of Mr. Hollo way,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Atlantic Hotel company of
Berlin, Worcester county.

The Speaker laid before the House the following commu-
nication from the State Treasurer :

STATE OF MARYLAND,
TREASURER'S OFFICE,

Annapolis, January, 1868.

The Hon. Speaker of the House of Delegates,

SIR :—In obedience to the 4th Section of Article 6, of the
Constitution, I have the honor herewith to submit to you
true copies of the accounts rendered to, and settled with the
Comptroller of the Treasury from the first day of October,
1866, to the thirtieth of September, 1867, inclusive, all of
which I trust, upon examination, will be found satisfactory
and correct.

I am, truly, and

most respectfully, yours,

R. FOWLER,

Treasurer of Maryland.

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and
Means hereafter to be appointed.
On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Leave was granted Messrs. Nicolai, Blake, Touchstone,
Wenner and Jones, to report a bill to fix the time of labor
in the cotton factories throughout this State.
On motion of Mr. Maynard,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to amend the charter of the Liberty and Fred-
erick Turnpike Company.
