JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 30,

engross all the House bills passed by the present General
Assembly immediately, and that the Chairman of the Com-
mittee on Claims issue his certificate to pay the per diem of
said clerks.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Chaisty submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a committee of three be appointed to wait
upon the Comptroller and learn from him the number of
slaves who enlisted between April 1st, 1864, and November
1st, 1864, and the number of claims of owners of said slaves
who have filed their claims for bounty under the Act of 1867,
and the number of said claims that have already been paid,
and report the same to the House.

Which was adopted.

And Messrs. Chaisty, Keech and Albaugh, constituted
said Committee.

Mr. Nicolai submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the officers of the House \>e paid one
dollar per day extra compensation for their services, and
that the Chairman of the Committee on Claims be authorized
and requested to issue his warrant to each of them for the
amount that may be due them under the operation of this
order.

Which was read.

The question being upon the adoption of the order,

Mr. Fooks demanded the yeas and nays.
