So the order was rejected.

Mr. Nelson submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Chairman of joint Committee on Print-
ing, be and he is hereby ordered and directed to take a bond
In the sum of thirty thousand dollars for the use of the State
for the faithful fulfillment of the contract ordered by the
General Assembly, with Wm. Thompson of R., as public
printer, the condition of which bond shall be if the printer
shall fully discharge the conditions of his contract, this bond
shall be void otherwise to remain in full effect and virtue in
law.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Smith, of Worcester, submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Clerk of the Committee on Claims be
and he is hereby authorized to receive six dollars per day for
his services as such since the commencement of the session to
this date.

Which was read.

Mr. Sanner submitted the following order as substituted:

Ordered, That the pay of the officers of this House not
already provided for, be fixed at $6 per day.

Which was read.

Mr. Keecn submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the word "six," and insert five.
Pending the consideration of which,

On motion of Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city.
The whole subject was laid on the table.
Mr. Mitchell submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that If Mr.

Mitchell had been present when the vote was taken upon the
bill known as the Jews' Sunday law bill he would have voted
for said bill as amended on its second reading.
