Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Mr. Silver submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. John
S. Brown is absent from his seat in the House to-day by sick-
ness in his family.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Rohrer submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that James
Coudy is detained from his seat in this House owing to sick-
ness in his family.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Keech submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of the House,
that Mr. Williams is absent on duty.
Which was adopted.

Also, the following :

Ordered, That Mr. Guy have leave of absence one day on
urgent private business.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Jones submitted the following order :

Ordered, That until further ordered, on each day when
this House adjourns, it shall stand adjourned until 12 o'clock
M. of the succeeding day, except when it adjourns on Satur-
day, when it shall stand adjourned until Monday at 12
o'clock, M.

Which was rejected.

On motion of Mr. Devecmon,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act for the suppression of unlaw-
ful abortion.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a hill entitled an Act for the protection of the public
against medical iinposters.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to re-
fund William Walsh, trustee of John Callen, money over-
paid as per certificate of Comptroller.

On motion of Mr. Colton,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to repeal section 1st of the Act passed March 23d,
1867, chapter 187, and re-enact in lieu thereof the following.

On motion of Mr. Corbin,
Leave was granted to select committee, Messrs. Corbin.
