The Speaker laid before the House the communication of
the Judges of the 4th judicial circuit, in relation to the du-
ties imposed upon them by the 9th section of Article 4 of the
Constitution.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Beck presented the petition of Josiah Ringgold, Sam-
uel Beck, and 70 other citizens of Kent county, asking that
trustees may be introduced in the school system to be
adopted.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.
Mr. Colton presented the memorial of Alfred D. Miller,
for the return of cost paid the late Clerk of the Criminal
Court of Baltimore city.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Touchstone presented the petition of the President and
Trustees of the West Nottingham Academy, in Cecil county,
praying the restoration to that institution the annuity of
$500 which was taken from said institution bv the Legis-
lature of 1864.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.
Mr. Corbin presented the petition of Edward A. Jones,
asking compensation for printing Acts of Assembly, &c.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
