1146 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 27,

Mr. Legg, Chairman of the Committee on Elections, re-
ported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1865,
chapter 174, entitled an Act relating to the registration of
the voters of the State, and to enact other provisions relating
to the registration of voters in lieu thereof, chapter 336,
passed March the 13th, 1867, be and the same is thereby
repealed, and the following sections to he arranged in the
Code of Public General Laws, under the Article entitled
Registration, be and they are herehy enacted in lien thereof,

Said bill being upon a second reading.

Mr. Iglehart submitted the iollowing amendment :

Section 6, line 8. insert after the word "disqualfiied" and
for what cause under the Constitution and laws of this State.

Which, was adopted.

Mr. Davis, of Cecil, submitted the following amendment:

Add at end of section 6 the words : provided that nothing
herein contained shall be construed to authorize said Regis-
ter to ask any questions touching causes of disqualification
not expressly enumerated in the Constitution.

Which was adopted.
The bill as amended,

Was then read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Moore, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to add a new Article to the
Code of Public Local Laws, to be entitled Public Roads in
Caroline County,

Said bill being upon a second reading.

Mr. Hubbard submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the 5th section.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hubbard submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the 6th section.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time.
