1868.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 1147

referred the report of the Joint Committee appointed by the
General Assembly at its last regular session, to meet a simi-
lar committee appointed hy the Legislature of Virginia, to
adjust the boundary line between the two States, on the
Eastern Shore, respectfully report that they have examined
said report, and given to its recommendations a careful con-
sideration. But inasmuch as the end of the session is so
close at hand, as to prevent your Honorable Body from
giving to the subject, the deliberate attention demanded by a
matter of so much importance to the State as the definition,
of its boundaries, they respectfully recommend that no final
action be taken at the present time, and thai its further con-
sideration be postponed until your next session. But as the
aforesaid Joint Committee have discharged their duties,
with the perseverance and ability that might be expected from
their high reputations, and as it is proper that the State
should pay its portion of the expenses incurred, and as it is
most important that our negociations with Virginia on the
subject should not be interrupted, we herewith present for
your favourable consideration bills for the payment of the
expenses of said committee, and for their continuance as a
Commission to adjust the said divisional line.

Respectfully submitted

MICHAEL A. MULLIN,
R. H. CORBIN,
B. EVERETT SMITH,
C. H. HYLAND,
