JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 26,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Monrovia and
Hyattstown Turnpike Company,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The House resumed the consideration of the unfinished
business of yesterday, being the

Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of the suffering
people of the State, through the agency of the Ladies' South-
ern Industrial Association and Ladies' Southern Relief Asso-
ciation, of Baltimore city.

Said bill being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Conway,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and
The bill made the order of the day for Friday, 27th inst.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day, the House proceeded to the consideration of

The bill entitled an Act providing for the appointment of
Inspectors of Lirne for the city of Baltimore.

Which was read a third time and rejected (for want of
a constitutional majority,) by yeas and nays as follows :
